For the past four or five weeks, my productivity levels have been on the rise. I have written every day and published a piece to Medium almost as often.

I even managed to raise my stats significantly. With an increase in the number of views, reads, fans and claps I’ve had over the past thirty days.

My work rate was up as was my confidence and also my drive to succeed.

That was until last weekend.

Why the sudden lapse in productivity?

Over the past few days, I’ve managed to produce a grand total of zero pieces of writing.

My motivation has been low, my drive has been having a siesta and as a result, my writing progress has taken a hit.

I knew what needed to be done but I just couldn’t muster the energy to actually get started.

So, what was the reason for this sudden lapse in productivity?

Alcohol.

You see, as I’ve been getting after it over the past few weeks, I have remained alcohol-free in the process.
