Another factor to take into account is many people set out to lose weight or get fit by doing activities they just don't enjoy.
I see some people in the gym who just don't wanna be there. Sitting on a machine after one set and playing on their phone for five minutes before the next set.
Do something you enjoy and it doesn't even feel like a workout, it's a hobby.
P.S - I also share your idea of a good workout; red-facd, drenched in sweat with a semi-psychotic smile on your face haha.
