Chase Multiple Goals or Focus on One at a Time?

Which is the best approach to achieving your goals?

There has been a question that keeps circling around and around in my mind. It’s been stuck in there for months and I keep flip-flopping between the two possible answers.

Is it best to focus on just one goal or is it possible to pursue multiple goals all at the same time?

Most people — as I’m sure you do also — have a number of goals and targets that they would love to achieve, and I am no different.

My two main goals are;

  • To grow my Medium profile and keep improving on my writing each day. Aiming to eventually give up my 9–5 job and make a living from writing online content for various different sites and companies.
  • To regain the level of fitness that I once had and then push it further than it has ever been before. Aiming to run an off-road marathon one day and perhaps even an ultra-marathon.

Over the past few months, I have taken the approach of focusing on just one goal at a time — growing my Medium profile and improving my writing.

All has been going well, progress is being made and I feel things are moving in the right direction.
