Don’t Waste Your Time Chasing Relationships

What advice would you give your younger self?

RECENTLY, AS I SCROLLED through my LinkedIn feed in search of writing inspiration, I came across this post from Patricia Rosa.

In the post Patricia talks about taking time to reflect on your life; where you came from, where you’re going and asks the question, “What would you write to your younger self?”

This got me thinking.

What life advice would I give to my younger self if I could go back in time? 🤔

After much thought, consideration and reflection I came to the conclusion that the most important thing I’d tell my younger self is to not waste so much time chasing after (romantic) relationships so early on in life.

As a young man I spent many years chasing after and involving myself in long term relationships when really I could have been out there doing more, enjoying new experiences and creating more stories to tell.

It’s bred in to us from an early age that the main goal in life is to find yourself a good job, settle down with a spouse and raise a few kids. That’s the pinnacle. And while I do agree (somewhat) with those lifestyle choices. I also think, there’s no rush.
