Even Eminem Doubted Himself in the Beginning
Have you ever been writing an article, stopped mid-sentence, and thought to yourself, ‘This is shit! I’m never going to reach my writing goals!”
Yeah, me too — a lot.
Sometimes, the stress of it all is enough to make you want to give up on your dreams completely. It’s rough.
Luckily, we aren’t alone in these struggles.
In a recent video I watched on YouTube, Eminem was being interviewed about his writing skills and admitted that in the beginning, he was awful.
Even as a rapper in battles, he felt his skills weren’t great, and he only got by because he was able to ‘spit’ quickly. (spit being a slang for rap and rhyme).
But even though he felt the same frustration about his skills as most of us do, he persevered.
He continued to show up. Practice every day and improve his craft. Now, he features high on the list of best-selling artists of all time.
It just goes to show what can be achieved when you never give up.
So the next time you feel like you’re ready to quit, just remember what could be waiting on the other side.
Frustration is part of the journey. Success comes to those who push through.
