That’s a great idea to always have a pen and paper handy ready to take notes. I use my phone, I have the Medium app on my home screen so when an idea pops in my head I note it there as a draft.

Getting out and about in nature is a great way to spark new writing ideas, I love getting out too, it’s very therapeutic.

Though I do feel that my writing flows a lot easier when I write from a driven or aggressive — but in a good way — kind of mood. Almost with a sense of urgency.

Every writer is different and it is worth testing out different moods and emotions to find which suits your writing voice best.
