Hey Kevin,

It’s so easy to become disheartened as you try to grow on Medium and as a writer.

There are so many fantastic writers here on Medium that make it look so easy and seem to reap the rewards almost instantaneously, though as you mentioned, on closer inspection they have given their all and put in the work to achieve such success.

There are times when you want to give up. When you can’t see how you’ll ever achieve your goals. I find that when these feelings begin to creep in there are two ways to deal with them.

  • Push on through, ignore the negative internal chatter and keep getting after it.

or

  • Take a break, recuperate and return feeling fresh and ready to get after it again.

I have actually taken the past three weeks off of writing — the findings of which will become the topic for my next article.

The main thing is that you never give up. Enjoy the process, celebrate small wins and keep turning up every day. That’s how people achieve their dreams.

Thanks for reading, much appreciated.
