How to Make Money with Your Writing?

Some much-needed advice to take things to the next level

Like most people on Medium, it is my aim to reach a point where I can just write for a living, make enough to pay the bills and take care of everything else that life throws at me. But at the minute writing is something I have to make time for in between working a nine-to-five, raising a family and working out.

Also, the only place where I write is here on Medium, which is fine but if I were to only depend on one platform — or source of income — in order to make a living that wouldn’t be ideal.

So my question is, how do you make money as a writer?

I have dreams of writing articles about life and the world around me but apart from publishing here on Medium I have no real idea on where someone like me, with no real writing experience or qualifications, would start in order to take my writing to the next level and move a step closer to reaching my goals.

Is there even a chance to reach these writing goals if it’s only a hobby at the minute?
