I Need to Stop Wasting Money
There’s nothing I love more than a cheeky impulse buy. The thrill of acquiring something new. A spare of the moment purchase that satisfies the human want for material possessions, if only just for an hour or two.
Most people think of impulse buying as wandering around the shopping mall with nothing specific in mind until something catches your eye, like a flashing red beacon it grabs your attention, draws you in and before you know it a transaction has been completed.
For me, it’s a little bit different but in many ways still the same.
Subscriptions, memberships, online programs. These are the things in which I gravitate towards. Rarely a one-off payment, I find myself experiencing ‘unexpected’ deductions from my bank account throughout the month.
When I say they’re ‘unexpected’ what I really mean is that I forget about the things that I’ve signed up for. That is until the time comes for me to be relieved of my funds every month, payments which I never miss but somehow manage to immediately forget about again until four weeks later.
That’s how they get you. When will I ever learn?
