I think FOMI is more common than you may think.

I've heard of this before, people who subconsiously sabotage themselves because it's the easier option, rather than do something that may advance them closer towards their goals.

There are likley studies doen with expert knowledge to explain it but personally I think it all comes down to the fear of the unknown.

When chasing our goals for the most part we don't really know what we are doing, it's a new experience and we don't know what to expect which can become overwhelming at times.

Its much easier to just slip back into our comfort zone and come up with an excuse like, "People like me don't achieve those kinds of goals" - or somthing along those lines.

I think its something that everyone experiences but the people who push past their 'fears' and kep going are the ones who achive their goals.

That's just my own personal opinion, it may or may not be the case for everyone.
