I try to stay away fro meetings as much as possible — I’d much rather just be given the minutes and told of any important points brought up as I find there is a lot of pointless talking and time wasting in a meeting. But when I do ‘have’ to attend and I’m not 100%as to what the hell is going on I usually use your point number 35 as a go-to.
I’d say something like, “Right, I’m not too clued up on this project at the minute can someone give me a quick brief of what stage we are at please?”
I say it in a manner that I’ve been so busy with other projects that I haven’t had time to keep up to date on this one.
Seems to work haha.
As you mentioned, most people are kind and understanding. At the end of the day, if everyone works together jobs get completed quicker.
