I’m Sick of Reading Articles About Writing

It’s time to mix things up with the topics we write about.

‘How to write a better blog’
‘Writing tips from a seasoned writer’
‘How to make money writing online’
‘One piece of writing advice for all writers…’
‘How to get more reads on your writing’
‘Writing like this will attract more readers’
‘How I write 1000 words per day and you can too’

And on and on it goes.

I don’t know about you but my Medium newsfeed/recommended for you page is awash with articles just about writing and I’m getting quite sick of it.

Look, I get it. We all like to write about our passions, interests, hobbies and things that excite us and for many people on here that is writing (and rightly so), but how many more pieces of writing about writing do we really need?

It’s not like there is a shortage.

And for the most part, the advice given is just the same old stuff recycled over and over again, on the odd occasion it’s packaged differently (though rarely), and then regurgitated back to us in a neverending feedback loop.

They say everyone has a different experience and even though a topic has been covered before, your perspective is unique, so you should share it with the world.
