I’m Starting From Zero. Here’s Why I’m Not Stopping.

I have 45 followers on LinkedIn. My Fiverr gigs have received little attention — except from people trying to scam me. I’m stuck in a regular-paying 9-to-5 job, helping to grow someone else’s dreams. My writing ambitions have gained no traction. I’m starting from zero.

For most, the above would be enough to give up.

Feelings of frustration, doubt, helplessness, and impatience push people over the edge. They start questioning themselves: “What’s the point of even trying when nothing ever seems to work?”

But for me? I guess I’m just too optimistic to quit. Or maybe I’m delirious. I’m not quite sure yet.

The Struggle of Starting From Zero

Some of the greatest stories ever told follow a hero who starts with nothing, faces impossible challenges, refuses to give up, and ultimately defies the odds to succeed. It’s inspiring. It’s cinematic. It’s romantic.

Reality is much less entertaining.

Starting from zero is lonely. Boring. Confusing.

Your mind jumps from one idea to the next, hoping something sticks. You experiment with different approaches, chase trends, and reinvent yourself more times than you can count. Meanwhile…
