I've been using Medium on and off since 2018 and there are always weird shenanigans going on when it comes to writers payment for their work.

I'm still yet to find anyone who can work out the way things truly operate 🤣.

Personally I just forget about it now and accept that some pieces are going to do well and others aren't.

Try not to dwell on it too much and just get on with writing your next piece. That's all you can really do in this situation.
