For someone like me who has only been writing on Medium for a number of months, every day is a learning curve. Each day I try to pick up new tips and advice from people who have been writing for a lot longer than me in the hope to improve on my skills and reach higher levels — as I’m sure you do too.

And because of this I have found myself not only researching and learning from members here on Medium but also looking further afield for inspiration and motivation to keep pushing myself forward with my writing goals.

I have mentioned this before and there is no doubt that I will mention it again but there really is an inspiration to be taken from everything in life and from everyone, regardless of age, gender or life experience.

In my recent search for knowledge, I have found my self drawn towards comedians and musicians for writing advice. And fighters for inspiration.

On my down time, when I like to kick back and relax, one of my favourite things to do is to binge on YouTube. And while this may seem like an incredible waste of time, it usually ends up being somewhat beneficial.

You see, the repertoire of videos in which I like to indulge is quite limited. They consist of boxing/MMA, stand up comedy and music — mostly rock.

“What’s beneficial about that?” I hear you ask.
