Music is a powerful tool.

I have an eleven-year-old step son and he loves rock music. He loves all the older bands and is always keen to talk about his new ‘favourite’ at the time — which at the minute is System of a Down, though he changes his mind weekly.

There is no point iin trying to stop a kid from listening to a certain type of music, they will always find a way to listen if they want to.

Instead they should be encouraged to embrace all genres of music for who knows what kind of impact music may have on their life in the future.
