Not Distributed in Topics
Not distributed in topics — could four words be any more disheartening? This is the subheading that I see — on the stats page — under almost all of the 200+ articles that I have posted here on Medium — only three of my pieces have ever been curated, way back at the beginning of what has been my writing ‘adventure’.
Curation seems to mean a lot to many of the writers here on Medium — which is understandable as it offers up the chance for your piece to be seen and read by a vast amount of members — but is it really worth all the aggravation and frustrations that come along with chasing that prestigious title? — personally, I think not.
Picture the scene; — it’s probably bitterly familiar to you.
You’ve just come to the end of your latest piece, all that’s left is hit the publish button and send it on its way.
The time and effort that you’ve put into this piece is admirable. You’ve really taken your time over it. Analysed each and every paragraph, scrutinised over each and every word.
The amount of time spent leaping between dictionary and thesaurus is enough to give even Captain James Cook motion sickness.
