Oh, Hello Writer’s Block. It’s Been a While.

How I get rid of this pesky menace.

Sometimes your writing flows, other times it drips.

This week has been a broken faucet for me. A constant drip of ideas that wet my drafts list but they have yet to be filled with any such content.

It’s been a real pain, to say the least.

I’ve been writing on Medium for some time now and have experienced many of these ‘phases’.

So, when a period of empty-headedness shows up it doesn’t bother me.

Though in the beginning, it was disheartening.

The very first time I experienced ‘writer’s block' — a term which I hate by the way. I prefer to see it as a mere blip in my writing progress. Block suggests to me that this is the end — which, ironically, is how I felt the first time.

My immediate thoughts where;

“Great, I’ve run out of ideas. I guess that’s it for my writing hopes and dreams. Better start looking for something else to pursue. Damn.”

Which was a very silly frame of mind to have. It’s so defeatist. Giving up at the first sign of a struggle. I should have…
