Posting on LinkedIn Is Harder Than I Thought — Here’s What I’ve Learned So Far

LinkedIn is unlike any other social media platform, which is something I learned pretty quickly when I decided to set up a profile and start posting there.

I thought if I just showed up, posted some half-decent content and engaged with other members then it wouldn’t take long before I saw some significant growth in my profile.

Turns out, it’s not that simple.

Here’s what I’ve learned so far.

Building Momentum Is Slow

Have you ever been speaking to someone who appears to be listening but then, when you ask for their thoughts, they provide zero response? That’s how LinkedIn can feel at times.

You can spend hours crafting a post, knowing it has the potential to add value to the reader’s life but then when you hit that post button, nothing.

Silence.

Crickets.

Tumbleweeds blow by kicking up dust, burying your well-thought-out post and condemning it to death.
