The approach Jake Paul has taken towards his boxing career is really quite smart.
He has, as mentioned, handpicked his opponents to increase the chances of success - as many boxers do - called out some of the biggest names in combat sports, kicked up a fuss with his adolescent-like antics but most of all he has people talking.
Check out most combat sport news sites and you'll be sure to see his name.
He has followed the blueprints left behind by some of the worlds most successful fighters ever and he's got people tuning in.
Of course, many only watching in the hope that he gets knocked out, but nonetheless, they are still watching and that's what generates the cash.
Jake Paul is an entertainer, and while it's unlikely he will be strapping a world title around his waist anytime soon, it's still interesting to see how far he will go and how many of the less popular fighters try to follow in his footsteps by applying similar marketing tactics in the hope of getting a big-money fight.
Thanks for sharing this piece Sean, it was a fun read.
