Using Other Writers as Motivation
I recently read a piece where the writer was discussing how they had made a five-figure sum in one month here on Medium — through the Medium Partner Program.
Five-figures!? That’s amazing, I can only dream of hitting those kinds of numbers.
Anyway, I clicked on the profile to read some more of their work and that’s when I saw it.
At the top of the page, just below the writer's bio, the date in which they became a member.
They had only been a member two months longer than me!

Why can’t I be hitting those numbers? Even somewhere close and I’d be happy. The most I’ve ever got was in the low three-digit region. Damn!
However, I am happy to announce that these negative feelings lasted all of about sixty seconds and here’s why.
Success Should Be Celebrated Not Envied
