Forget about alcohol, it’s doing you no favours.

Today marks a week since I last had an alcoholic beverage.

Yes, I’ve decided to have another break from drinking. It isn’t the first time and will not be the last.

Being from Ireland, drinking is ‘considered’ a big part of our lifestyle — for most, but not everyone.

Most occasions involve an alcoholic beverage.

Birthdays, Christmas, Easter, sports events, concerts, get-togethers, catch ups and weekends to name a few.

So, every once in a while, I like to take a break from it all and focus on taking my health and fitness — among other things — to the next level.

Feeling great inside

If you’re fond of a beer, wine or any type of alcoholic beverage you know how easy it is to get stuck in a routine/habit of having a drink at specific times of the week.

It’s also easy to forget how good you feel when you lay off it for a while.

Granted, a week isn’t that long but already I can feel the benefits.

I feel fresher in the mornings. Have increased energy at work, whilst playing with the kids and when working out. Not to mention having clearer thought…
