What I’ve Learned After a Year on Medium

The beginning of August marked my one-year anniversary since becoming a member here on Medium — whooo! Celebration time!

It’s been a rollercoaster ride of emotions. From excitement to frustration, joy and confusion.

I can hardly believe that it’s been twelve months already, the time has just flown by.

So, what better way to mark this milestone, a year full of discovery and adventure than to reflect on what I’ve learned throughout.

It was the 28th July 2018, if I remember correctly, the day that I signed up to become a member of the Medium ‘family’.

Before joining Medium, I hadn’t written anything really since my school days — besides work emails and the odd post on social media, hardly intriguing stuff.

But I had always had somewhat of an interest in the art — one of my favourite subjects in school being English — and believed that I had the skills to write, not a masterpiece, but definitely something worth reading.

So, when I decided to sign up and try my hand at writing a few articles per week and see how far I could take this Medium thing, I was quietly confident.
