When You Expect Nothing From Medium You Can’t Be Disappointed
No doubt you’ve heard about the stresses people have been having regarding Medium and the recent drop in engagement/earnings.
Multiple articles fill the Medium newsfeed from writers in despair.
But why?
Perhaps it’s because they expect more from Medium, which could be warranted.
However, what if writers took a different approach instead of expecting more from the site?
What if, writers decided to expect nothing from Medium?
What if, instead of getting upset over the lack of service provided by the platform, writers took an indifferent view of what’s been happening?
What if writers’ said ‘meh’ to Medium? Accepted the site had gone to shite and either continued writing here without expectation or moved on to a better platform where the users are treated with more respect?
If there was a collective switch in attitude towards the site, where people no longer cared or gave it as much attention or time out of their day then I’m sure those in charge would soon take notice.
