Where else is there to write that has a good base audience and also has such good writer to reader interaction?

I came to Medium with zero expectations. To me it was just somewhere to write and maybe grow an audience. I think that's why I've lasted so long.

But I can see why people get frustrated. It can be hard putting so much time and effort into something and feel barely nothing in return.
