Why Does Muscle Pain After a Workout Feel So Good?
Right now, as I write this, my body is aching all over.
My chest, back, arms, legs and muscles I never knew existed ignite with every movement.
As I get up out of my favourite chair to grab a glass of water from the kitchen, I let out grunts and groans similar to that of an old-aged pensioner. I now walk like one too.
Bending down to put on my shoes is also an ordeal as my tightened muscles stretch ever so slowly to full capacity to allow for such movement — coming back up is no picnic either.
With every chore, task or basic daily routine undertaken I can feel the effects of this week’s gym sessions.
And while there is some discomfort, and the hindrance to movement can slow down my day, I actually can’t wait to get back to the gym next week and do it all over again.
