Why Don’t You See Top Writers Commenting on Articles?

Or replying to comments on their work.

Hey, I have a question.

And maybe it’s a question that has crossed your mind occasionally — depending on how long you’ve been using Medium.

But — and maybe it’s just me — how come you never see the top writers of the platform comment on other people’s articles?

And now that I come to think about it, how come you rarely get a response from them when you drop a comment on their work also?

I find that interesting. Don’t you?

Obviously, they are a busy bunch.

I mean, you don’t reach the tippy top of the Medium game by lounging around, taking life at a leisurely pace.

No doubt the majority of their time is spent writing new articles or brainstorming new ideas.

But surely they have 5-10 minutes spare in their day to read a few of their fans' articles and drop a few words of encouragement. No?

Or maybe they do read some of their fans' work but don’t feel it’s quite to the level they expect and thus doesn’t warrant a comment or clap.

Which is fair enough.
