Why You Should Focus on Your Job More Than Your Dreams

It seems not a day goes by without some well-to-do online ‘influencer’ or content creator telling you why you need to quit your job right now and chase your dreams.

They say things like, “Why are you working so hard to make someone else rich” and “If you died today your boss would replace you in the morning” — which I always found to be somewhat of a narcissistic statement. Of course, they would find a replacement. Do you really think someone’s business and livelihood should come to a screeching halt just because you’re not around anymore?

Anyway. Of course, in an ideal world, we would all love to be living our best lives, working for ourselves, pursuing our passions, having no one to answer to and making a fortune forbye.

But unfortunately, some of us have to live in the real world.

A world where bills have to be paid, mouths have to be fed and responsibilities have to be fulfilled. And for that, we must take on a J.O.B.

There’s no living in la-la land for the likes of us.
