We all love writing — that's the main reason for using Medium, right?

Coming up new with ideas.

Finding the perfect words to express your opinions.

Freeing your mind through the creativity of writing.

Exploring your deep inner thoughts, finding yourself.

Writing truly is a gift from above.

But, how often do you really test yourself and your writing skills?

Many of us have our ‘go-to genre’ of writing. The type of writing that we feel most comfortable with.

Whether it be creating articles, poems, short stories or whatever. There is always one type that we gravitate towards.

And while it’s great to have a style that you are comfortable with — after all, your best writing is always done when you’re most relaxed — are you really improving your skills by remaining in your comfort zone?

“The most interesting things in life happen just on the other side of your comfort zone” — Michael Hyatt
